This role is responsible for driving the highest level of performance, availability, and reliability of plant assets through world-class systems aligned with ISO 55001 asset management standards.
The role establishes end-to-end governance across Performance Monitoring, Reliability Engineering, Asset Strategy, Maintenance Excellence, and Operational Excellence by:
- Performance Reporting & Monitoring: Establishing robust fleet-wide performance monitoring standards, Tier 1/2 benchmarking, availability tracking (EAF/EFOR), and executive dashboards using CBM/SCADA/OSI PI;
- Reliability Engineering: Institutionalizing RAM, RCM, FMECA, ACA, and FRACAS/CPAR processes, and leading RCAs to eliminate bad actors and repeat failures;
- Asset Management: Directing 10–20 year strategic lifecycle management plans (LCMP), ISO 55001 compliance, asset risk management, and long-term CAPEX/OPEX prioritization;
- Maintenance & Operational Excellence: Optimizing CMMS (Maximo), leading outage governance, enforcing QA/QC standards, and embedding a culture of continuous operational improvement.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
A. Performance Reporting, Analytics & Monitoring
- Develops performance standards and guidelines for ARI fleet to ensure alignment to international standards (IEEE 762, ISO) and industry best practices.
- Tracks, analyzes, and reports fleet availability (EAF), unforced outage rates (EFOR), heat rates, generation metrics, and efficiency across all RE business units.
- Drives the implementation of executive Power BI dashboards, plant information systems (OSI PI, Schneider SCADA), and real-time performance analytics.
- Undertakes external performance benchmarking for Tier 1 and Tier 2 KPIs to identify efficiency gaps and operational improvement opportunities.
B. Reliability Engineering & Failure Management
- Institutionalizes Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Reliability-Availability-Maintainability (RAM), ACA, and FMECA methodologies across all renewable assets.
- Leads Root Cause Analysis (RCA) governance, FRACAS/CPAR systems, and failure investigations for major trip incidents and bad actor elimination.
- Establishes System Asset Health monitoring dashboards and condition-based monitoring (CBM) workflows to proactively identify degrading components.
- Governs 'Threats to Generation' reviews and develops contingency mitigation plans for marginally operating and high-risk assets.
C. Asset Management Strategy & Lifecycle Management (ISO 55001)
- Develops, maintains, and enforces the ISO 55001-aligned Asset Management Strategy, Framework, and site-level Asset Management Plans (AMPs).
- Formulates 10–20 year Lifecycle Management Plans (LCMPs) and long-term strategic CAPEX/OPEX roadmaps covering refurbishment vs. replacement decisions.
- Chairs and manages the Asset Management Steering Committee meetings, driving maturity assessments and closing compliance gaps.
- Establishes obsolescence management programs and critical spare parts strategies for key components across hydro, geothermal, solar, wind, and BESS assets.
D. Maintenance Excellence, CMMS & QA/QC
- Owns, governs, and optimizes enterprise CMMS (IBM Maximo) usage to shift maintenance strategies from time-based to condition and predictive maintenance.
- Establishes Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) frameworks, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), and overhaul quality standards to eliminate rework.
- Supports Outage Readiness Gate Reviews (T-24 months), scope challenge sessions, and outage execution reviews to optimize cost, duration, and safety.
E. Operational Excellence & Risk Management
- Drives operational excellence, process standardization, continuous improvement programs, and 1AP quality management initiatives across all renewable sites.
- Integrates asset management policies with Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for high-consequence risk mitigation.
- Serves as principal peer reviewer for technical Management of Change (MOC) proposals and oversees Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR) for new renewable assets.
- Collaborates with the AP Gen BUs’ Operational Risk Management Plans to ensure risks to critical assets are identified and appropriate risk treatments are determined
- Ensures the BUs’ Asset Management Policy and Guidelines complement the Business Recovery Management Plans with contingencies for repair or replacement of failed or non-performing high-value critical assets
- Assists AP Gen BUs in conducting Oil Fire Hazards Analyses, FMECAs, RCFAs, Fire Protection Systems’ designs, modifications, and hidden impairments’ analyses
- Reviews and assesses risks to generating Asset Operational Risk considering design, redundancy, spare parts availability, and obsolescence to support Critical Assets Risk assessment and mitigation
G. Others
- Assures internal/external stakeholder development through periodic plant visits to power generation facilities, meetings, site visits to OEM and technical service providers, and conference participation, as required
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the TL
To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who has:
- Technical knowledge and professional judgment in the engineering discipline with emphasis on performance optimization, loss control, and process hazards analyses
