Job summary

Talent Forge Group is seeking a hands-on Head of Engineering for its HR tech SaaS platform. You will own the technical direction, architecture, and day-to-day delivery while coding at a senior/lead level.

You will lead sprint planning, allocate tickets, and shape the roadmap from day one. You will heavily work with Laravel/Vue 3, AWS services, and front-end stack including WordPress/Varnish/NGINX, while exploring AI-powered features and workflow optimizations.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on coding ability at senior/lead level.
• Experience with Laravel, MySQL and Vue 3; comfortable with WordPress/Varnish/NGINX front-end architecture and AWS services.
• Practical AI experience — building AI-powered features and speeding engineering workflows.
• Senior/lead-level coding and ownership of sprint planning/delivery in a SaaS team.
• Experience running sprints/delivery in a small, close-knit SaaS team.
• Able to own process from day one and contribute to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and architecture across the platform including job boards, ATS/HRIS integrations, and AWS infrastructure.
• Lead sprint planning and ticket allocation from day one.
• Translate product priorities into a scoped, sequenced delivery plan.
• Hands-on development at senior/lead level (Laravel/Vue 3).
• Identify and drive AI opportunities in product and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with Head of Infrastructure on AWS infrastructure and platform reliability.
• Input into hiring and growing the dev team as it scales.

Our client is hiring a hands-on Head of Engineering to own technical direction and day-to-day delivery for their recruitment technology SaaS platform. This is a player-coach role — you'll code at a senior/lead level while also owning sprint planning, ticket allocation, and the technical roadmap from day one.

Frontend: Vue 3

Infrastructure: AWS (S3, OpenSearch, Redis)

Web front-end: WordPress, Varnish, NGINX

You Own

• Technical direction and architecture across the platform (job boards, career sites, ATS/HRIS integrations, AWS infrastructure, CMS)
• Sprint planning and ticket allocation for the dev team — ready to run this from day one
• Translating product priorities (set with the Founder/CEO and Product/Design lead) into a scoped, sequenced delivery plan
• Hands-on development at a senior/lead level alongside the team, primarily in Laravel/Vue 3
• Identifying and driving AI opportunities — both in the product and in how the team builds software
• Working with the Head of Infrastructure, dotted-line, on AWS infrastructure and platform reliability
• Input into hiring and growing the dev team as it scales
