Job summary

Symrise is seeking a Head of Data, AI, Master Data & Process Automation Governance to lead enterprise-wide governance across Data Governance, AI Governance, MDM, and process automation. You will partner with senior leaders to ensure data and AI are trusted, compliant, and scalable, shaping standards and operating models across a global organization in Barcelona.

As Head of Data, AI, Master Data & Process Automation Governance, you will play a critical enterprise leadership role in ensuring Symrise's data and AI ecosystem is trusted, secure, governed, and designed for long-term business impact. You will lead and evolve enterprise-wide governance frameworks across Data Governance, AI Governance, Master Data Management (MDM), and AI-powered Process Automation, establishing the standards and structures that enable responsible and scalable use of data and AI across the organization.

This role sits at the intersection of business, technology, and governance. You will define and operationalize global frameworks, drive governance maturity, and ensure that data and AI solutions are deployed safely, ethically, and effectively. Working closely with senior leaders across business and technology teams, you will help shape how Symrise industrializes data and AI capabilities while ensuring compliance, quality, transparency, and trust.

You will also lead the evolution of governance communities and business process automation initiatives, creating enterprise-wide adoption and ensuring data and AI become foundational enablers of innovation and operational excellence.

About you

• Extensive experience leading enterprise-wide Data Governance, AI Governance, or Master Data Management initiatives in complex global organizations.
• Strong expertise in governance frameworks, data quality management, AI lifecycle governance, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record of defining and implementing enterprise standards, policies, and operating models across large-scale ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) and data quality frameworks as critical enablers for analytics and AI success.
• Experience establishing responsible AI frameworks, model governance processes, and risk management practices.
• Knowledge of emerging AI regulations and compliance requirements, including ethical and responsible AI principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with experience engaging senior leadership and cross-functional global teams.
• Demonstrated leadership experience building governance communities and driving adoption in matrix organizations.
• Passion for building trusted, scalable, and future-ready data and AI ecosystems that enable enterprise transformation.
