As a Senior Application Technologist, you will help shape the future of flavor across the savory and culinary space. You will bring creativity and technical expertise together, developing standout prototypes for snacks, seasonings, sauces, dressings and processed meat while leveraging Symrise’s technology to push boundaries in food product development. Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing and cross functional teams, you will stay ahead of industry trends, contribute to new concepts aligned with market demands and play a hands‑on role in customer visits and tastings, all while upholding strong EHS, quality and compliance standards.
- Assess and recommend suitable flavors for application across various savory and culinary formats in line with specific requirements.
- Develop prototypes of snack and culinary applications including seasonings, sauces, dressings, processed meat
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of Symrise technology and technical expertise in food product development
- Keep abreast of emerging developments in ingredients and application technologies
- Uphold a safe, clean and organized working environment in accordance with EHS policies and ensure laboratory equipment is well‑maintained
- Ensure all developments comply with applicable legal, religious and customer requirements
- Manage recipe documentation and flavor and product application evaluation data
- Partner with cross-functional teams as needed to support project outcomes
- Contribute to customer visits, tasting sessions and presentations
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to explore and develop new concepts aligned with market demands
- Offer technical guidance and training to customers as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry or related field
- Minimum 8 years of work experience in R&D for savory applications (snacks and culinary) within flavor/food ingredients company or FMCG environment
- Experience with processed meat applications would be an added advantage
- Sound knowledge of food regulations, food safety standards and quality assurance practices
- Familiarity with relevant ingredients and laboratory equipment
- Well‑developed sensory analysis capabilities
- A hands‑on, results‑driven individual with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to excellence
