A Class Advisor and Subject Specialist has a comprehensive role combining teaching, student mentorship, and administrative responsibilities. The Class Advisor and Subject Specialist will be responsible for teaching core subjects and serving as a mentor to the assigned class, ensuring students' academic and personal growth.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Subject Instruction: Teach assigned subjects, including Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Filipino, Bible, MAPEH, or HELE/TLE through direct instruction sessions.
- Lesson Development: Research, develop, and deliver lesson plans, visual aids, activities, and teaching materials tailored to various subjects.
- Student Assessment: Evaluate and process student grades promptly, and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Online Learning Management: Utilize online platforms effectively for instruction, announcements, homework, and classroom management to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Technical Support: Provide students and families with technical support and guidance regarding online systems.
- Classroom Management: Set and maintain discipline and decorum during and outside of class hours.
- Substitution: Substitute in classes of other teachers when needed.
Student Mentorship and Support
- Homeroom and Study Hall Duties: Serve as a homeroom teacher, guiding students in their academic and personal development.
- Parental Engagement: Update and partner with parents on students' academic, social, and behavioral development through regular communication and meetings.
- Spiritual Guidance: Model Christian values and provide spiritual leadership and guidance to students, fostering a Christ-centered environment.
- Student Development: Assist and challenge students to develop knowledge, skills, and positive attitudes, encouraging them to exceed expectations.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Report Cards and Progress Reports: Encode student grades into the Online Grading System, Excel, or Google Sheets, complete checklists, and provide quarterly and mid-quarter progress reports.
- Event Planning: Serve on the Class Advisor Team to plan and implement school-wide events that enrich student experiences.
- Meetings and Events Participation: Attend and actively participate in meetings and events (both online and face-to-face).
- Substitute Teaching: Serve as a substitute teacher when required.
- Extracurricular Involvement: Train students for academic and extracurricular competitions, and accompany them to related events.
- Project Coordination: Plan, lead, coordinate, and execute school-related projects.
Spiritual Leadership
- Christian Values: Model Christian values through actions and decisions, setting an example for students and colleagues.
- Spiritual Growth: Encourage students' growth in faith and actively participate in prayer meetings and devotionals.
Others
- Serve under a 3-month service contract.
- Communicate regularly with the Principal.
- Follow school policy on filing leaves.
- Represent the school with integrity and professionalism on social media platforms, upholding Christian values in both content and conduct.
- Attend and participate in organization-wide events and activities.
- Do other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
