Position Overview
The General Education (GE) Program Head provides academic leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for the General Education Department. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality instruction across core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Humanities, and Physical Education, aligned with CHED guidelines and STI academic standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic supervision to GE faculty in terms of instructional delivery, course management, and student outcomes.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, syllabus compliance, and ensure alignment with CHED policies and institutional standards.
- Lead classroom observations, provide feedback, and mentor faculty for professional growth.
- Coordinate faculty loading, scheduling, and subject assignments.
- Analyze student performance data and initiate academic interventions.
- Support the Academic Head in internal and external audits, accreditation, and school-wide academic initiatives.
- Foster collaboration with other departments, promote faculty research, and facilitate professional development.
II. Educational Qualifications
- Must possess a Master’s degree in Education, English, Math, Science, Social Science, or related field.
- A Doctorate degree (or ongoing doctoral studies) is an advantage.
III. Experience Level
- With at least 3–5 years of teaching experience in the tertiary level.
- With at least 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in an academic setting.
IV. Skills and Competencies
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in curriculum development, assessment design, and academic documentation.
- Advanced knowledge of education policies, outcomes-based education (OBE), and quality assurance systems.
- Ability to lead faculty evaluations, peer mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in the use of LMS platforms, MS Office, and education technologies.
