Job summary

OpenAI is assembling a backend-focused product engineering team in the Philippines to build infrastructure and developer-facing workflows. You will work primarily in Go on APIs, orchestration, and secure, scalable execution environments for AI agents.

You will own from problem understanding to shipping, operating, and iterating solutions, collaborating with frontend, security, and infrastructure engineers while maintaining strong focus on reliability and customer impact.

Qualifications

• Strong Go skills with production backend experience.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and state.
• Experience with Linux, containers, cloud infrastructure, and networking.
• Ability to design clear APIs and data models.
• Product-minded, customer-focused from discovery to launch.
• Strong communication across disciplines and locations.

Responsibilities

• Build Go services and APIs for provisioning cloud environments and agent workflows.
• Develop orchestration for long-running, parallel tasks with durable state.
• Ensure security in execution workflows with proper permissions and auditability.
• Own production quality: testing, rollouts, observability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend and design to make backend capabilities easy to use.
