Role and Responsibilities
- Perform day to day operational support (Trade Matching, Settlements, Post settlements, Cash Management and Term Loans), prioritizing as necessary.
- Communicate, investigate, resolve trade and cash queries and issues raised by Front Office (Portfolio Managers/Traders) Brokers, Custodians, and Internal Investment teams.
- Manage the relationship with fund managers, custodian banks, brokers, auditors, and internal/external counterparties to monitor the quality of services and ensure market standard practices are in place.
- Develop and maintain enhanced procedures and controls within investment operations to ensure consistent high-quality services and support to the front office, clients and other business units.
- Actively manages risks related to trades and cash to avoid failed settlement.
- Effectively communicate significant production updates and challenges to TL/Manager in a timely manner.
- Drive process improvements and collaborate with technology partners for data enhancements.
- Helps on projects to meet management requirements by doing research, identifying needs, and developing/implementing solutions.
- Support ad-hoc analysis to identify root cause of production problems and develop timely solutions.
- Assist in assessing, handling, and resolving critical business and system issues raised during operations.
- Identify weaknesses in workflows and assist to establish effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any related business course.
- Minimum 5 years direct work experience within Trade Support, Middle Office and Investment Operations. Investment certification is an advantage.
- Experience and knowledge of Middle Office/Investment Operations’ policies and procedures, including cash management, trade management, trade support, corporate actions, pricing and valuations and fund operations.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point). Power Platform tools and VBA knowledge is preferred. Business systems (Bloomberg, OMGEO CTM, Simcorp, Custodian portals) experience required.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to understand, negotiate and influence business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research issues where the resolution is not readily apparent.
- Good team player with strong written, verbal communication skills, reading comprehension and the ability to build relationships across multiple levels of the organization.
- Proactive / can-do approach and attitude. Thorough attention to detail and accuracy of delivery.
Domain Knowledge Requirements:
- Understands the concepts surrounding Trade Support functions and the Trade Life Cycle.
- Possesses a fundamental understanding of investment transactions, trade lifecycle, and various asset classes.
- Good working knowledge in using Bloomberg and other pricing/data sources.
- Knowledge in BBG, SCD, Custodian Portals is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge regarding Data Management, Pricing, Settlements, Reconciliation, Transactions, and Transfers processes.
Additional Notes:
- Applicants should be willing to work on a fixed night shift schedule.
- Applicants should be willing to report to Manulife Offices in UP Ayala Technohub in Quezon City.
