Qualifications

• Degree in customs, logistics, transportation or equivalent.
• Experience in import/export or related role.
• Knowledge of import/export processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Negotiation skills with international clients are a plus.
• Experience in wholesale or retail is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Book shipment for inspection to nominated inspection company as indicated on the Proforma Invoice
• Collate documents for reference of the inspection company in checking the goods ordered
• Monitor inspection date and send report for review
• Review inspection report and summarize findings for management
• Report findings and await final decision on loading or rework
• Monitor reworking and request photos/videos as proof
• Review terms described in proforma invoice
• Monitor shipment ready date to arrange shipping booking
• Secure effective sailing schedule to meet customer commitments
• Monitor container with shipping company and supplier
• Check and verify import shipping documents for customs
• Apply marine insurance using final documents
• Transmit complete documents to Customs Broker for clearing
• Preparation of Import Purchases and costing and posting to SIMS
