Job summary

IRRI seeks a Head of Finance to lead the organization’s finance strategy, aligning financial direction with senior leadership priorities and coordinating accounting, audit, treasury, and investment activities. This role oversees global planning, risk management, and donor engagements, and represents IRRI in strategic partnerships.

The Head of Finance will partner with the CFAO to drive digital transformation, ensure compliance with donor frameworks, and deliver high-quality financial reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• CPA certification preferred; MBA may be advantageous.
• Experience leading finance teams in international development or research environments.

Responsibilities

• Set and lead finance management direction aligned with senior leadership.
• Shape governance, compliance and financial systems innovations.
• Oversee global planning, risk management, and donor engagement.
• Coordinate enterprise-wide budgeting, planning, and audits.
• Deliver strategic financial reporting for governance and donors.
• Manage global finance team and drive inclusive, productive culture.
