Job summary

Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) in Manila seeks a Senior Fleet Personnel Officer to oversee crew planning, recruitment, rotations, and development while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency for safe vessel operations.

You will manage Manning plans, employment contracts, and liaise with flag state authorities, supporting training needs and cross-geo coordination with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or maritime certificate required.
• Minimum 5 years in maritime recruitment or fleet personnel operations.
• Experience in employment contracts and crew planning.
• Familiarity with maritime labor law and seafarers’ rights.

Responsibilities

• Execute vessel manning plans per regulations and budgets.
• Review and approve employment contracts.
• Plan crew rotations and end-of-contract procedures.
• Monitor crew vacancies and support annual manning plans.
• Coordinate embarkation/disembarkation logistics.
• Liaise with flag state authorities for compliance.
• Communicate operational changes to vessel personnel.
• Assess training needs and support development plans.
• Optimize crew travel and monitor costs.
