The General Manager is the senior executive responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, financial performance, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance of the Company’s Philippine operations.
The General Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Philippine organization and the Company’s international executive leadership, and is responsible for ensuring that local operations align with the Company’s global business strategy, operating standards, financial objectives, and governance requirements.
The position requires significant executive leadership experience, international business knowledge, and the ability to manage and expand Philippine operations while coordinating effectively with stakeholders and business leaders outside the Philippines.
Provide overall executive leadership and direction for the Company’s Philippine operations.
Develop and execute the Philippine business and operating strategy in alignment with the Company’s global objectives.
Translate international corporate strategy into appropriate local operating plans, organizational structures, and performance objectives.
Advise the Board of Directors and executive leadership regarding Philippine operations, business opportunities, organizational requirements, and operational risks.
Represent the Philippine organization in strategic discussions with international leadership, clients, business partners, professional advisers, and other stakeholders.
Maintain executive oversight of the Company’s Philippine operations and shared-services functions.
Ensure Philippine operations meet agreed service levels, productivity expectations, quality standards, and business requirements.
Establish scalable processes, organizational structures, and management systems to support continued growth.
Identify opportunities to transition additional business functions and services to the Philippines where operationally and economically appropriate.
Drive continuous improvement, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency across the organization.
Maintain executive oversight of the Company’s Philippine financial performance, budgets, forecasts, operating expenses, and capital requirements.
Work with Finance leadership to establish annual operating budgets and financial targets.
Monitor actual performance against budgets and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
Identify opportunities to improve operating margins, control costs, and increase
organizational efficiency.
Ensure appropriate financial controls and approval processes are maintained.
Provide executive oversight of workforce planning, recruitment, retention, compensation, performance management, and organizational development.
Build and develop a strong Philippine leadership and management team.
Establish clear accountability, performance expectations, and reporting structures.
Partner with Human Resources to ensure employment practices and policies are appropriately administered and consistent with applicable Philippine requirements and Company standards.
Develop succession plans and strengthen local management capabilities to support long term organizational growth.
Ensure that Philippine operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies, and governance requirements.
Coordinate with Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Tax, Information Technology, and external professional advisers regarding Philippine compliance requirements.
Maintain executive oversight of corporate registrations, business permits, tax compliance, employment requirements, data privacy, information security, and other applicable regulatory matters.
Establish appropriate internal controls and risk-management practices.
Escalate significant operational, financial, legal, compliance, or reputational risks to the Board and executive leadership.
Serve as the principal management liaison between Philippine operations and international corporate leadership.
Ensure effective implementation in the Philippines of global business initiatives, operating standards, technology platforms, financial controls, and corporate policies.
Coordinate cross-border initiatives involving Philippine and international personnel.
Provide executive leadership with regular reporting regarding financial performance, staffing, operational performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
Facilitate knowledge transfer and alignment of business practices between the Philippine organization and international operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline required.
Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive business and management experience, including substantial senior leadership responsibility.
Demonstrated experience managing multi-functional or shared-services operations.
Experience working within an international or multinational business environment.
Demonstrated responsibility for financial performance, budgeting, organizational development, and operational strategy.
Experience establishing, scaling, restructuring, or managing offshore or international operations strongly preferred.
Experience coordinating business activities across multiple countries and time zones.
Experience working with executive leadership, boards, clients, and professional advisers.
