GENERAL ACCOUNTING OFFICER

MerryMart Grocery Centers, Inc. – Pasay City

Job Description:

Oversee and manage the general accounting and finance functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's / College Degree in Accountancy.
  • A Certified Public Accountant.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, with some supervisory responsibilities.
  • Preferably with experience in the retail industry.
  • Good leadership skills and knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accuracy and reliability of accounting data and books, and perform monthly and yearly closing processes, including:

- Accruals

- Lapsing Schedule

- Inventory

- Other Clearing Accounts

  • Ensure compliance with all BIR reportorial requirements and returns, such as:

- DST

- VAT

- Income tax returns

- Withholding taxes

- Annual Information Returns

  • Ensure timely filing and payment of SSS, PHIC, and HDMF remittances.
  • Conduct and maintain Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Schedules monthly.
  • Assist the Accounting Head in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly budgets.
