The General Accountant is responsible for assisting in managing the day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role supports the preparation of financial reports, supervises accounting staff, and ensures compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review general accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end closing activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS).
• Review and validate accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support external and internal audits, providing necessary schedules and documentation.
• Ensure tax and statutory compliance, including filing of VAT, withholding tax, and other government reports.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
• Supervise, mentor, and train junior accounting staff to promote efficiency and professional growth.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Finance Head.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
• 5 – 10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and local tax regulations
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks); SAP experience is preferred
