Job summary

Wimmer Solutions is seeking a Java Software Engineer III to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems, and solutions for Nordstrom digital experiences.

The role emphasizes delivering high-quality, scalable software and mentoring others. You will work within an agile team, contribute to planning, and ensure security and code quality across the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in developing REST-ful services.
• Familiarity with Linux/Docker and open source software development.

Responsibilities

• Design and collaborate with local and partner teams.
• Participate and contribute to the agile development and planning process.
• Write highly maintainable, easy-to-understand code for RESTful Services, event-driven systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure following secure coding practices.
• Demonstrate a foundational understanding of standards, concepts, and principles of engineering to solve the practical needs of the business.
• Design complex systems at the organization level with up/downstream dependencies and understand business metrics for the organization.
• Mentor other engineers and help them split larger designs into individual work units.
• Design and validate all scenarios conform to code quality through complete and automated unit, functional, integration, and end-end testing.
• Identify and prevent performance issues, optimize solutions and infrastructure, and lead cross-functional troubleshooting.
• Instrument code appropriately, creating custom metrics, alerts, and dashboards.
• Ensure adherence to Engineering best practices across the entire solution.
• Collaborate with other software engineers on design and best practices and conduct code reviews.
• Understand tradeoffs in types of engineering processes and adjust a team process to meet the project's needs.
• Test all scenarios and conform to quality and security standards Participate in design and code review to ensure quality and testability of feature.

Our client is looking for a Java Software Engineer III who will design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems, and solutions. The scope and accountability at this level is responsible for the quality of a team's work, ensuring that all designs are clear and complete for successful execution. WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in developing REST-ful services
• 5+ Event-driven applications
• Familiarity with Linux/Docker and open source software development.
• Familiarity with test automation and CI/CD pipelines Familiarity with Kubernetes, New Relic and Splunk Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences Passion for new technologies, operational excellence and customer impact.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Monthly pay rate is up to 50,000 MXN peso based on shift, experience and qualifications, as well as geographical market and business considerations.
