Job summary

Arcanys, a Cebu City-based software partner, is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join its remote-friendly team. You will develop scalable web applications, build RESTful APIs, and contribute to the full development lifecycle.

Candidates should have at least seven years of professional experience, expertise in either backend or frontend, and strong English communication for collaboration with international clients.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of professional software development experience building web applications.
• Strong expertise in either backend or frontend development, with knowledge of the other stack.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices (SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI).
• Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows.
• Good English communication and ability to work cross-functional.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, secure, fault-tolerant web applications across backend and frontend.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Create automated tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, testers, designers, and product owners.
• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor code for performance.

In this role, you’ll get to:

• Develop scalable, secure, fault-tolerant, and well-documented web applications across both backend and frontend.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and modern web user interfaces.

• Create automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability.

• Collaborate with engineers, testers, designers, and product owners to deliver high-quality products.

• Review, debug, optimize, and refactor code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.

• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.

• Proactively identify and discuss system, security, UX, and performance improvements.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and application monitoring.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• At least 7 years of professional software development experience building web applications.

• Strong expertise in either Backend or Frontend development, with working knowledge of the complementary stack.

• Backend-focused developers should have at least 4 years of experience with one of the following:

  • .NET / ASP.NET Core

  • Java (Spring Boot)

  • Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript)

  • Python (Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks)

• Frontend-focused developers should have at least 4 years of experience with React or Angular.

• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Comfortable working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.

• Strong understanding of software development best practices and clean coding principles (SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI).

• Knowledge of web fundamentals, including HTTP, TLS/SSL, authentication, security best practices, performance, and optimization.

• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.

• Good English communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team.

It’s Great if you have:

• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core, NestJS, Django, or FastAPI.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.

• Experience writing automated tests for frontend and backend applications.

• Experience monitoring application and database performance.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
