Responsibilities

• Develop responsive HTML email/EDM templates from design files.

• Build, update, and troubleshoot email campaigns within Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
• Support journey setup, personalization, dynamic content, audience targeting, and QA.
• Ensure compatibility across major email clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.).
• Troubleshoot rendering, responsiveness, and campaign logic issues.
• Implement reusable modules, merge tags, and dynamic content.
• Conduct pre-send QA covering links, alt text, personalization, and accuracy.

Hire Digital is looking for a Freelance EDM Developer with hands‑on Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) experience to support our internal delivery team across client email marketing and digital campaign projects. The ideal candidate combines strong HTML email / EDM development skills with practical experience building, personalising, testing, and troubleshooting campaigns within Adobe Journey Optimizer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop responsive HTML email / EDM templates from Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, or other design files.
• Build email‑safe layouts using HTML, CSS, table‑based structures, inline styles, and media queries.
• Build, update, and troubleshoot email campaigns within Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
• Support journey setup, personalisation, dynamic content, profile attributes, audience targeting, and campaign QA.
• Ensure compatibility across Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, Yahoo Mail, mobile devices, and other major email clients.
• Troubleshoot rendering, responsiveness, personalisation, and campaign logic issues.
• Implement reusable modules, merge tags, conditional content, and dynamic content.
• Conduct pre‑send QA covering links, images, alt text, personalisation, responsive behaviour, and content accuracy.
• Make revisions based on internal and client feedback.
• Collaborate with creative, marketing, project management, CRM, and development teams.
• Manage multiple assignments and deliver work within agreed timelines.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong experience developing responsive HTML emails / EDMs and hands‑on experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
• Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS for email.
• Experience with personalisation and dynamic content within AJO.
• Good understanding of Table-based email layouts, inline CSS, media queries, Outlook / VML fallbacks, ,mobile responsiveness and dark mode considerations
• Experience troubleshooting email rendering across major clients.
• Understanding of customer journeys, audience segmentation, consent, profile data, and email delivery workflows.
• Experience with email testing tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate designs accurately into HTML.
• Comfortable working independently within a remote, project‑based environment.
• Good written communication and ability to work with international teams.
