Job summary
CRS Philippines seeks a GIS Specialist to support land eligibility assessment, LU/LC analysis, and carbon project planning. You will generate spatial outputs for prefeasibility, feasibility analysis, and project design, integrating field data with GIS workflows.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage geospatial databases, and travel to field sites up to 50% to support program implementation in Mindanao and nearby areas.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Geomatics, Natural Resource Management, or related field; Registered Forester is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of professional GIS experience, with remote sensing and land-cover analysis.
- Experience building geospatial databases and conducting spatial analysis.
- Experience with forest landscapes, biodiversity, climate resilience, or carbon-related projects.
Responsibilities
- Assess land eligibility and suitability; analyze LU/LC and LCC changes.
- Develop ex ante classification, stratification, and mapping for prefeasibility and project design.
- Generate spatial outputs and support carbon yield calculations and biodiversity assessments.
- Coordinate with IP communities, government agencies, and partners; travel to field sites as needed.
