Job summary

J-A-N-B-Y Marketing Corporation in the Philippines seeks a seasoned Chief Mechanic to lead our fleet maintenance operations for 23 trucks, 15 SUVs/sedans, and 22 motorcycles. You will oversee mechanical reliability, safety, and routine servicing.

You will manage a team of technicians, control parts inventories, and ensure accurate reporting on vehicle health, costs, and downtime, while coordinating with vendors to meet roadworthiness requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chief Mechanic or fleet maintenance leader.
• Experience supervising a technical team.
• Strong inventory management and budgeting skills.
• Knowledge of local roadworthiness and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians
• Manage parts inventory
• Ensure comprehensive reporting on vehicle health, maintenance costs, and operational downtime
• Oversee the mechanical reliability and safety of the fleet
• Oversee routine servicing of the fleet
• Fleet Maintenance Management: Direct and perform preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and major repairs across all vehicle categories (heavy trucks, light passenger vehicles, and motorcycles).
• Inventory Control: Manage spare parts, tools, and consumables inventories, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing waste and reducing equipment downtime.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, service schedules, parts usage, and maintenance expenditures to present regular reports to management.
• Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule workshop staff, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to workshop safety protocols.
• Vendor & Compliance Management: Coordinate with external suppliers for specialized repairs and ensure all fleet vehicles comply with local roadworthiness, registration, and safety regulations.
