Job summary

Dempsey Resource Management Inc. is seeking an automotive technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain light to heavy-duty vehicles.

The role requires hands-on use of diagnostic tools and garage equipment, plus a valid driver’s license and appropriate technical certification or diploma. Responsibilities include routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and performing repairs across engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, cooling, and LPG tanker systems (if certified).

Qualifications

• Must have 1-2 years experience.
• Experience with light to heavy-duty vehicles (trucks).
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and garage equipment.
• Technical certification or diploma in automotive mechanics or a related field.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
• Identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
• Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Maintain and repair air conditioning systems, lighting systems, and other vehicle components.
• Conduct service and maintenance on LPG tankers, including pressurized systems (if certified).
• Maintain detailed service and repair logs for each vehicle.
• Document all maintenance activities in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Adhere to environmental and occupational safety regulations.
• Inspect LPG tankers and ensure all safety valves and equipment function correctly (if applicable).
• Assist in roadside repairs and emergency breakdown support when needed.
• Provide feedback to management on fleet condition and recommendations for improvement.
