Job summary

onsemi in the Philippines seeks a Fixed Asset Accountant to maintain accurate asset records, track additions, depreciation, and transfers across the ledger. You will work with SAP/Oracle/NetSuite and Excel to ensure capitalization compliance and support audits with monthly reconciliations.

The role requires 2–3 years in fixed asset accounting or shared services and a bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Financial Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Financial Management.
• 2–3 years of fixed asset and general accounting or shared services experience.
• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, depreciation methods, and GL processes.
• ERP proficiency in SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar platforms; strong Excel skills.

• Maintain fixed asset master data with accuracy (descriptions, tags, locations, department codes).
• Review capital expenditures and record asset additions per policy (Oracle).
• Monitor Construction in Progress and transfer completed projects to fixed asset categories.
• Post depreciation, amortization, and close activities following policy.
• Process asset transfers, retirements, disposals, and impairments with proper approvals.
• Reconcile fixed asset subledger to GL monthly and investigate variances.
• Coordinate physical asset verification and cycle counts.
• Assist with audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Guide business teams on fixed asset policies and documentation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Fixed Asset Master Data Management: Maintain complete and accurate fixed asset records, including asset descriptions, asset tag, locations, department code, useful lives, capitalization dates and asset classifications.
• Asset Additions and Capitalization: Review capital expenditure transactions, validate supporting documents, ensure compliance with capitalization policy and record asset additions in the fixed asset register (Oracle).
• Construction in Progress Monitoring: Track project costs under construction in progress, coordinate with project owners and ensure timely transfer of completed projects to the appropriate fixed asset categories.
• Depreciation and Amortization: Calculate, review, and post depreciation or amortization expenses accurately and on schedule, in accordance with approved useful lives and accounting policies.
• Asset Transfers, Retirements, and Disposals: Process asset transfers, retirements, disposals, scrap and sales with proper approvals, documentation and accounting entries. Support impairment reviews, obsolescence assessments, and asset retirement obligation analysis when applicable.
• Reconciliations: Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis and investigate, resolve and document any reconciling items. Identify control gaps, process issues, or unusual asset movements and elevate them to management as needed.
• Physical Inventory and Asset Verification: Coordinate periodic physical counts, validate asset existence and condition, identify missing or idle assets and recommend corrective actions.
• Month-End and Year-End Close: Prepare and post fixed asset journal entries, depreciation entries and forecast, roll-forward schedules, asset aging and other close-related reports within agreed timelines. Review and analyze variances between actual and forecast depreciation, asset balances and capital spending trends. Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for internal, external, tax, and statutory audits.
• Collaboration: Guide business teams on fixed asset policies, required documentation, asset tagging, and capitalization requirements.
• Others: Perform other related duties and activities that may be assigned by immediate superior or management.

Qualifications

• Graduate of B.S. Accountancy or Financial Management.
• Experience of at least 2 to 3 years in fixed asset and general accounting or shared services environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, depreciation methods, and general ledger processes.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and internal control requirements related to property, plant, equipment and intangible assets.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or similar platform and Microsoft Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Good communication and coordination skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
