Job summary

Electronic Transfer and Advance Processing Inc. (eTap Inc.) in Metro Manila, Philippines, seeks a Safety Officer to ensure DOLE and OSHS compliance and to educate employees on safety protocols. The role focuses on providing workers with the tools needed for a safe workplace.

You will perform inspections, update safety records, coordinate with DOLE, lead safety orientation sessions, and manage incidents while promoting a pervasive safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Safety Certification (OSHS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle emergency situations and make quick, sound judgments.
• Certification in First Aid or related fields is a plus.
• Physically fit to perform security patrols and respond to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
• Evaluate current safety protocols and measures in place.
• Ensure that safety and health standards, as prescribed by the OSHS and DOLE, are consistently followed.
• Assist in the implementation of safety and health programs, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor incidents of workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
• Prepare and maintain records, reports, and documents related to safety and health.
• Report any violations or unsafe practices to the appropriate personnel or department.
• Conduct or assist in conducting safety orientation and training sessions for new employees or whenever necessary.
• Promote awareness of safety and health measures among the workforce.
• Provide basic first aid treatment or assist in emergency situations until professional medical help arrives.
• Participate in emergency drills and ensure that employees are familiar with evacuation procedures.
• Coordinating with DOLE and other related agencies on safety matters.
• Stay updated with safety rules and regulations and ensure compliance.
• Participate in safety meetings and be part of the company’s safety committee.
