Job summary

Qualifications

• Accounting or finance degree required.
• 2–3 years FP&A or related experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Power BI experience is an advantage.
• Experience using ERP and Microsoft Office applications.

Job description

The Financial Planning Analyst supports the FP&A function in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, management reports, financial analysis and performance monitoring. The role provides timely and accurate financial information and insights to support Management in making informed business decisions.

KEY RESULTS AREAS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Budgeting

• Assist in the preparation and consolidation of the annual budget and business plan.
• Coordinate with business units in gathering budget inputs, assumptions, and supporting details.
• Review budget submissions for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with agreed assumptions.
• Maintain budget files, templates, and working schedules.

Financial Performance Monitoring

• Prepare monthly financial performance reports and analysis.
• Compare actual results against budget, forecast, and prior year, and highlight significant variances.
• Work with the concerned business units to understand the reasons behind major variances.
• Prepare financial commentary and supporting analysis for Management reports.
• Monitor key financial and operating indicators and flag areas that require attention.

Forecasting and Financial Analysis

• Assist in the preparation of periodic forecasts and updates to the financial outlook.
• Update financial models and projections based on actual results and revised business assumptions.
• Perform variance, trend, and other financial analyses as needed.
• Support scenario analysis and assess the financial impact of changes in business plans and assumptions.

Management Reporting

• Prepare regular financial management reports and presentations for Management and business reviews.
• Consolidate financial and operational information from the different business units.
• Assist in the preparation of materials for ManCom, Board, and other Management meetings.

Cash Flow and Capital Planning

• Assist in preparing and updating cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor cash requirements and planned sources and uses of funds.
• Track capital expenditures against approved budgets and identify significant variances.
• Support the analysis of funding requirements and other cash flow-related matters.

Coordination and Process Improvement

• Coordinate with other Finance groups and business units to obtain, validate, and reconcile financial and operational data.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date financial planning and reporting files.
• Look for ways to improve existing reports, templates, and processes to make planning and reporting more efficient.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Accounting or finance graduate or any related business course
• Preferably 2-3 years experience in FP&A, management reporting, financial analysis, corporate planning or related functions
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, experience with power BI an advantage
• Has experience using an ERP and other Microsoft Office applications
• In depth in finance, accounting processes & control principles; ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports
