We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with financial modelling and data visualization tools, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to various stakeholders. The Senior Financial Analyst will play a critical role in supporting financial decision-making, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive monthly management packs including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and revenue and expense projections to provide insights into the company’s financial status.
- Assist with project and overhead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support operational and strategic planning.
- Generate detailed monthly financial reports on overhead and yard/P&E costs for managerial review.
- Provide timely feedback to the Accounts Payable team regarding incorrect Chart of Accounts (COA) coding to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Lead the preparation and maintenance of the weekly project cost tracker to monitor project financial performance.
- Maintain and update tax-related documentation to ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and monitor real-time financial performance to support timely and accurate reporting.
- Adhere to ethical standards and regulatory guidelines in all financial planning activities, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.
- Collaborate closely with senior finance team members and external professionals such as tax accountants and auditors.
- Support the implementation of new COINS modules and assist in manual preparation and updates as required.
- Perform additional duties as required, consistent with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience.
- CPA or CFA certification, or progress towards certification, preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related analytical roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, including financial statements, audit, tax, and risk management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, pivot tables, macros, and Power Pivot.
- Experience with financial modelling and data visualization tools preferred.
- Familiarity with financial software such as ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, COINS), financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, Adaptive Insights), and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
