A leading company in logistics is seeking an Internal Auditor to support audit processes and enhance organizational effectiveness. This role focuses on audit planning, execution, and compliance with financial and operational standards, providing valuable insights to the management team. Ideal candidates will have a strong auditing background and effective communication skills to engage with higher management levels.
Objective:
This role supports the AC Logistics and Air21 Holdings Inc's Internal Audit team in the execution of the approved audit plan, collaborating with functional and business units to identify and assess the risks that may adversely impact the organization’s reputation, operations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and strategies. Ensuring that the company’s strategies and risk mitigation plans are consistently reviewed, updated, and implemented to achieve the company’s goals and KPIs.
Responsibilities:
PLANNING AND EXECUTION OF ANNUAL AUDIT PLAN
Leads multiple internal audit projects, focusing on finance and operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, bank reconciliations, revenue, accounts receivables/payable, expense management, tax compliance, and fixed assets.
Prioritizes audit engagements based on manpower resources.
Performs final scoping and risk assessment for engagements based on annual audit plan.
Develops engagement audit plans, program guides, requirements, timetables, and budgets.
Identifies and recommends changes in audit scope or procedures to the Internal Audit Head for approval.
Conducts ground-level audit activities such as interviews, process reviews, testing, surveys, documentation reviews, physical checks, inventory checks, code reviews, and site visits.
Communicates audit findings to line management, providing risk assessments and business impact evaluations.
Assesses the adequacy of manual or automated internal controls for audited business processes.
Prepares audit working papers, summarizing audit observations, exceptions, areas for improvement, saving opportunities, and fraud indicators.
Ensures root causes of audit observations are identified and appropriate, value-adding, and cost-efficient recommendations are developed.
Monitors progress against estimated timelines, discussing any adjustments or delays with immediate superiors.
AUDIT REPORTING AND MONITORING
Prepares interim audit presentation/reports, ensuring high-risk observations are included and initially communicated to business process owners.
Prepares detailed audit reports, incorporating all issues with corresponding remediation plans and implementation dates agreed with business process owners.
Furnishes executive summaries, ensuring timely issuance of audit reports.
Conducts follow-up activities and monitor implementation of agreed action plans until completion.
BUSINESS PARTNERING/ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Coordinates with other units on systems development, new business, standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience as an Internal or External Auditor with exposure in financial auditing, taxation, risk management, and governance processes; fraud audit experience is a plus
Working knowledge in accounting principles and auditing standards.
Experience in reporting and presenting to management team.
In-depth knowledge of controls, risk management, and governance processes, and their link to business objectives.
Effective influencing and communication skills; assertive with good interpersonal abilities; confident in engaging with business partners at higher levels.
