Job summary

Canon Business Services Centre Philippines is seeking an accounting professional to manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and reconciliations, while ensuring accurate capitalization and asset reporting. The role supports audit/compliance tasks and Capex processes in a busy finance environment.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in accounting, CPA is a plus, and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Professional CPA license is preferred.
• At least 3 years of accounting-related experience.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (PowerBI, D365, TM1, BlackLine).
• Strong Excel and Access skills; excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate capitalisation, disposals and asset reporting.
• Assist with audit and compliance requirements including Sarbanes Oxley.
• Approve Capex Purchase Orders on time and handle queries.
• Complete reconciliations monthly and escalate issues.
• Collaborate with F&A staff and other Canon teams to clear items.
• Review processes to prevent issues and document procedures.
• Participate in projects and ensure journals are completed on time.
• Maintain timely monthly reporting timetables.

Essential duties

Financial / Commercial

• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and reconciliations
• Ensure accurate capitalisation, disposals and asset reporting.
• Be involved in assisting with audit & compliance requirements including Sarbanes Oxley.

Customer

• Ensure all Capex Purchase Orders are approved on time
• Ensure all queries are handled promptly and professionally

Process

• Ensure all reconciliations are completed in accordance with monthly timetable
• Identify any issues on reconciliations as they arise. Escalate any material issues to management
• Liaise with relevant F&A staff and other Canon staff to clear outstanding items on reconciliations.
• Review processes accordingly to prevent further issues arising
• Review and document own work processes and procedures and suggest improvements for same
• Participate in any projects where required
• Ensure all journals are completed in accordance with monthly reporting timetables
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed in accordance with monthly timetables
• Identify any issues on reconciliations as they arise. Escalate any material issues to management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Professional License (Certified Public Accountant) is an advantage
• At least 3 year (s) of working experience in the related field is required

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g.PowerBI, Microsoft D365, TM1, BlackLine);

• Computer literacy (minimum Intermediate Excel, Intermediate Access)
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written
• Good level of initiative
• Eye for details
• Efficient time management
