Job summary

QBE Insurance in Taguig is seeking a Finance Analyst to analyse and report financial transactions for finance, taxation, and audit purposes. You will assist with budgeting and audit processes, produce management reports, and maintain data accuracy across reporting activities.

The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders, developing policies, and supporting the continuing professional development of the team. Strong accounting and governance experience is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum tertiary education or equivalent together with accounting certifications.
  • Experience in a complex financial services environment is preferred.
  • Proven people management and accountability for workload.
  • Solid accounting background with regulator-facing experience.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records following internal procedures and statutory rules.
  • Provide high-level financial guidance to support decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal/external auditors and stakeholders.
  • Refine processes and systems to improve efficiency of accounting activities.
  • Produce accurate financial returns for regulators and bodies on deadlines.
  • Develop and mentor the team to sustain performance standards.

The purpose of this role is to analyse and report financial transactions for finance, taxation, and audit purposes, assist with budgeting and audit processes, and produce management reports regularly. Additionally, the role involves managing accounting and reporting activities to maintain data accuracy, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement policies.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records following internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide high-level advice, guidance and information on financial matters to support decision-making and improve understanding of financial management.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations.
  • Contribute and manage the refinement of processes, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of accounting activities.
  • Manage the production of accurate financial returns required by internal and external bodies and regulators to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Motivate and develop the team to ensure the required standards of performance, and support the continuing professional development of all team members.
  • Develop relationships in line with the business plan to support the achievement of business objectives.
Work Experience

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Moderate accounting or finance experience within a complex financial services organisation.
  • Proven experience of consistent and constructive people management capabilities.
  • Proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload.
  • Solid accounting experience within a financial services organisation.
  • Proven experience of working with all levels of an organisation, particularly to be credible to senior management.
Qualifications

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Certifications as an accountant.

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Relevant administrative qualifications.
