A prominent construction firm seeks a Finance Officer to lead financial operations and ensure compliance with regulations. The role encompasses overseeing accounting tasks, budgeting, and providing financial insights to support strategic decisions. Candidates should possess a relevant degree and have substantial experience in a managerial position, coupled with strong analytical and leadership skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Finance Officer will take a lead role in managing the financial operations of Victor Consunji Development Corporation. This includes handling daily accounting tasks and making sure the company follows internal rules and government regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational decision-making. The Finance Manager is expected to oversee the finance staff, help plan the budget, and coordinate with other departments.
Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of financial statements, reports, and forecasts in compliance with company policies and applicable standards.
Supervise the preparation of business forms and reports, including account balances, cost tracking, and budget comparisons.
Lead and review the budgeting process in coordination with department heads, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to the CFO and senior management.
Approve invoices, review expense reports, and ensure proper documentation and authorization in line with company protocols.
Ensure timely collection and disbursement of funds, including invoicing and vendor payments.
Oversee and review financial data entries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with financial policies.
Reconcile discrepancies and provide guidance to resolve accounting or transactional issues. Assist with audits by organizing schedules and sharing necessary documents.
Maintain updated knowledge of financial regulations and legislation affecting the company’s operations.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for finance processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Mentor, guide, and evaluate finance staff to ensure high performance and professional development.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial clarity and compliance across the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in budget planning, financial reporting, and analysis.
Solid understanding of general accounting principles, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and taxation.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate clearly with non-finance personnel.
Commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
