A leading start-up company in the financial sector is seeking an experienced CPA to manage their accounting team. The role includes responsibilities for financial reporting, compliance, and managing accounting controls. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least five (5) years of function-related work experience
Knowledge in Financial Management, cost control (debits/credits reconciliation, collection, investments, etc.), bookkeeping, and accounting principles.
At least 3 years of management experience
Extensive experience in preparing financial statements
Ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data
Knowledge of data operations and information systems
Experience in using computerized accounting systems and/or ERPs, NAV experience is an advantage
Knowledge of retail organization’s systems and processes
Clear understanding of accounting and financial internal control system
Knowledge of tax laws, court procedures, and government trade and business regulations
Willing to work in a start up company
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages commercial accounting employees handling payroll, payables, and general accounting
Responsible for preparation of monthly and annual financial reports
Performs monthly coaching and training with the team
Reviews and approves the following: invoice, journal entries, balance sheet recons, payroll, final pay, and FA movement
Responsible for the maintenance of NAV Masterfile
Assists the team in coming up with process improvements on their respective assignments
Ensures that accounting controls are in place and working effectively
Complies with the Internal Audit requirements and assists in resolving any issues identified during the audit review
Prepares and/or review reports/data needed for Government compliance or tax matters
Conducts Semi-Annual and Annual staff evaluation
Assists the Commercial Finance Associate Director in preparing financial and management reports.
Assists in the budgeting and forecasting process
Ad hoc tasks that will be assigned by the immediate head or required by the Management of the company
