Job summary

General Motors is offering a hybrid-setup internship in Manila for Finance & Accounting students. You will contribute to streamlining accounting processes through automation and standardization while gaining hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and budgeting tasks.

The role requires you to be in your 3rd year (or pursuing a Finance & Accounting degree) and to participate in meetings with leadership, presenting results and driving improvements.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a Finance and Accounting student (or 3rd year) with internship as an official undergraduate requirement.
• Willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up.
• Basic accounting knowledge is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with KNIME or similar automation tools is a plus, Lean/Six Sigma training is a advantage.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid on day shift. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.

What You\'ll Do

• Initiate and complete projects to streamline accounting operations via process simplification, standardization and/or automation.

• Perform (low risk) operational activities like manual journal entries, account reconciliation or budgeting and forecasting

• Participate in meetings to identify opportunities to streamline/simplify work.This may be one of below, but not limited to APM Policy review, MJE automation/reduction focused on high effort entries, and global QA tasks standardization

• Present the results of the project to GBS Leadership Lead/participate in GBS-wide engagement activities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Candidates must be graduating/3rd year college students of Finance and Accounting courses, with internship as official undergraduate requirement

• Must be willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up.

• Basic accounting skills

• Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

• KNIME or any similar automation tools preferably trained LEAN, Six-sigma trained

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management)
