Strategy and Transactions Associate
Principal duties and responsibilities include collaborating closely with management and other team members to support internal accounting and finance functions, in addition to executing engagements in strategy and transactions. The role involves analyzing market trends, financial modelling, enterprise valuations, due diligence, and transaction opportunities to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Market and Financial Analysis: Research and evaluate market trends, industry developments, and competitor strategies.
- Financial Modelling and Valuation: Develop financial models and perform valuation analyses to assess transaction potential.
- Financial Performance Analysis: Analyze historical financial performance and operational data to offer recommendations for strategic decision‑making.
- Due Diligence: Perform finance, commercial, and operational due diligence to support transaction closing.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Help with client presentations and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through effective communication.
- Senior Team Collaboration: Collaborate with senior team members in preparing and presenting client meetings and reports.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, coordinate across teams, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Firm‑wide Initiatives: Contribute to firm‑wide initiatives, including thought leadership, research, and business development efforts.
- Finance Support: Support the Head of Finance in record‑to‑report, order‑to‑cash, and procure‑to‑pay activities of the business.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of experience in corporate finance preferred.
- CPA and/or CMA certifications ideal, but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage detailed projects.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, HLOOKUP, VLOOKUP) and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional multitasking skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, regulatory compliance, financial analysis, and problem solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Energetic, self‑motivated, able to work independently while achieving set goals and deadlines.
- Willingness to perform client visits as needed.
