Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial reporting or corporate accounting.
• CPA or similar designation strongly preferred.
• Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communications skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with GAAP and period-end close.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quarterly GAAP close processes and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Prepare internal management reports (MD&A).
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain a wide range of reconciliations across financial statements, subledgers, and data source.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks and variances through data validation and variance analysis.
• Prepare period-end journal entries with proper documentation and error-free submission.
• Liaise with Shared Services teams (Corporate, Tax, Accounts Payable, etc) on an as-needed basis.
• Assist with resolving internal and external inquiries regarding ledger data and account mappings.
• Support process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and data cleanup projects to strengthen controls and reporting transparency.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal control requirements and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accounting operations and respond to ad hoc financial inquiries.
