Job summary

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) Philippines seeks a Research Associate to lead data collection and management for the World Bank Care Economy Study. The RA will oversee field staff, ensure protocol compliance, and deliver timely outputs to donors and partners.

The role requires strong STATA and SurveyCTO/Survey Solutions skills, plus experience with data cleaning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Travel to field sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of full-time experience in research or a sector-related field.
• At least 2 years of experience managing field teams or people.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex field logistics and make autonomous decisions.
• Field experience within the development sector.
• Fluency in English and Filipino.
• Willingness to travel to remote field locations.
• Master's degree in economics, public policy, social science, or related field (or 3–5 years of relevant work experience in lieu).
• Proficiency in SurveyCTO or Survey Solutions programming (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for research implementation, ensuring monitoring and data collection tools are fully functional.
• Oversee data collection activities, including deployment and monitoring of digital survey systems.
• Oversee hiring, training, and management of project staff, including consultants and field staff.
• Plan and execute logistical aspects of data collection and field operations, ensuring on-budget delivery with minimal delays.
• Manage field and administrative data through the full lifecycle: collection, processing, and storage.
• Conduct data cleaning and preliminary analysis; ensure adherence to data quality protocols and audits.
• Provide bi-weekly reports on completion rates and data quality to PIs.
• Engage with community stakeholders and donors to ensure timely milestones.
