Job summary

Linktech Internet and Cable Installation Services is seeking a field technician to install and service fiber optic networks at customer premises in Batangas City. You will run drop cables, install ONTs and Wi-Fi gear, and perform splicing with safe termination and testing of connections.

The role requires outdoor work in various weather conditions, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills to explain operations and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical/vocational course in electronics or electrical technology.
• Hands-on experience with fiber optic cabling, fusion splicers, optical power meters, and basic low-voltage wiring.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, heights or confined spaces, and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Strong interpersonal communication for client interactions and problem-solving aptitude for diagnosing network issues.

Responsibilities

• Run drop cables from utility poles or underground conduits into customer premises.
• Install and configure Optical Network Terminals (ONT), routers, and Wi-Fi equipment.
• Splicing & Termination: Perform mechanical or fusion splicing of fiber optic strands. Terminate and test fiber connectors safely and accurately.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Measure optical power levels (dBm) and use devices like OTDRs or power meters to locate signal loss and faults.
• Customer Service: Explain equipment operation to clients, verify service activation speeds, and provide basic usage education.
• Documentation: Complete service reports, log signal readings, and update network inventory or job cards.
