Job summary

onsemi is seeking a Failure Analysis Engineer to provide product analysis support and technical services for maverick lots, reliability monitoring, and customer returns. The role reports to the FA Laboratory Group Leader/Manager.

You will perform analysis using X-ray, SEM/EDX, SAT, and other FA tools, generate reports, and assist in lab capability improvements while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Strong communication with internal/external customers and hands-on equipment experience are

Qualifications

• Graduate of a technical/electronics or engineering course.
• At least 2 years experience in semiconductor manufacturing process.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Hands-on experience with SEM/EDX, SAT, X-ray, and other failure analysis equipment.
• Familiarity with basic electrical bench test equipment (multimeter, power supply, SMU, curve tracer).

Responsibilities

• Perform failure analysis on customer returns, production's maverick lots, or non-conforming products until failure mechanism is determined.
• Provide technical support/services to internal and external customers using X-ray, SAT, SEM/EDX, and other FA tools.
• Perform 1st level electrical test characterization (I-V, resistance, leakage) and basic electrical bench testing.
• Assist engineers in laboratory capabilities/development improvement activities.
• Publish failure analysis reports.
• Conduct periodic housekeeping in the area.

Responsible in rendering product analysis support and technical services to production's maverick lots, reliability monitoring, evaluations, qualifications and customer returns. The position reports to the FA Laboratory Group Leader / Manager.

Responsibilities

• Performs failure analysis on customer returns, production's maverick lots or non-conforming products until failure mechanism determination.
• Provide technical support/services to both internal and external customers; like X-ray, SAT, SEM/EDX, macro and micro inspection, and micro-sectioning, as well as other tools deemed necessary for analysis.
• Performs 1 st level electrical test characterization; like current-voltage (I-V) curve test revealing continuity / resistance / leakage parameters and basic electrical bench testing.
• Assists engineer in laboratory capabilities/development improvement activities.
• Publish failure analysis report.
• Conducts periodic housekeeping in the area.

Qualifications

• Education / Experience
  • Graduate of a Technical (preferably Electronics) / Engineering course
  • Prefer at least 2 yrs experience in semiconductor manufacturing process
• Skills
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prefers Hands-on experience in SEM/EDX, SAT, X-ray, and other failure analysis equipment
  • Knowledgeable in basic electrical bench test equipment (such as multimeter, power supply, source meter unit - SMU, Curve tracer)
  • Has good communication skills
