Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking a Test Room Manager to oversee all FAT testing activities. You will lead test engineers and technicians, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across testing processes and KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Job description

Oversee all activities in the Factory Test Rooms to ensure transformers and their components meet performance and safety standards. Lead a team of test engineers and technicians in planning, conducting, documenting, and analyzing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), while addressing issues related to test failures and non-conformities. Manage equipment maintenance, testing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance overall Test Room performance through regular interaction with customers, technical experts, and manufacturing staff.

How will you make an impact:
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and industry regulations in testing operations. Oversee adherence to health and safety regulations in all testing activities.
  • Develop and enforce workplace safety best practices among team members.
  • Collaborate with customers and project teams to define complex testing requirements.
  • Plan and sequence testing activities effectively to optimize resource alignment.
  • Manage comprehensive test protocols to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Analyze data to generate comprehensive reports for management decision-making.
  • Establish and monitor Test Room KPIs to drive process enhancements. Direct regular inspections and coordinate repairs and upgrades of testing equipment.
  • Develop strategic plans for equipment enhancements to improve testing capabilities.
  • Guide the collection and secure storage of test data while ensuring compliance.
  • Ensure timely reporting of test results and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Collaborate on comprehensive failure analyses to identify root causes of product issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions for reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in testing processes and performance metrics.
  • Implement and enhance the Quality Management System tailored to the Test Room.
  • Collect and organize Test Room processes to create a comprehensive test portfolio.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:
