Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior financial close and reporting specialist to lead a team of 6–10 professionals, ensuring IFRS and US GAAP compliance while managing capital projects and fixed asset accounting.

You will consolidate, close, and report, perform pre-close activities, and provide technical support across ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA) while building SOPs and training materials.

Qualifications

• 7–12 years of experience in accounting with close and MIS reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP.
• Experience with lease accounting and SAP ERP systems.
• Proficient in MS Excel and data analytics tools.
• CA/ACCA/CPA or MBA from a reputed institute.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books
• Financial close and consolidation
• Process journal entries, allocations, and period end adjustments
• Reconcile GL accounts, perform consolidation and process elimination, post and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Perform pre close activities
• Perform fixed assets and capital project accounting
• Process and record fixed asset adjustments, enhancements, revaluations and transfers
• Process and record fixed asset maintenance and repair expenses
• Calculate and record depreciation expense
• Create project account codes
• Monitor and track capital projects and budget spending
• Close / Capitalize projects
• Ensure adherence and meeting the KPIs and SLA and escalation management if any
• Lead a team of 6-10 members including engagement PMO activities
• Receive direction from the Senior Manager and leadership
• Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders
• Detailed review of work performed by team members
• Variance reporting and analytical review, providing necessary commentary
• Build the necessary documents like SOPs and other end‑user training materials
• Use available guidance on US GAAP/IFRS for providing technical support, as and when required
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork
• Support development and management of relationships with external and internal clients
• Support Senior Managers in business development activities
• Engage in hiring of team members, structured learning path and operations mentor for the team
• Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding timing of deliverables and reports

Requirements

• 7-12 years relevant experience including experience in Entity/BU reporting, financial statement close process support and MIS reporting
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP
• Strong knowledge of lease accounting
• Ability and comfort level in researching client inquiries and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
• Experience working under different ERP packages like SAP
• Understanding of SAP S/4HANA public or private cloud
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
• Knowledge of data analytics/visualisation tools is an additional advantage
• CA, ACCA (UK), CPA, or a regular MBA from a reputed institute
• Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical skills and a highly proactive approach
