Job Description:
The External Affairs Office Staff supports the Vice President/Director for External Affairs in strengthening institutional partnerships, managing internationalization initiatives, and preparing SBLC’s documentation for compliance and global competitiveness.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partnerships & Linkages: Assist in identifying, initiating, and maintaining partnerships with academic institutions, industry partners, NGOs, and international organizations. Draft and process Memoranda of Agreement (MOA), Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and related documents. Monitor, evaluate, and document partnership outcomes.
- Regulatory & Accrediting Body Coordination: Facilitate communications with CHED, DepEd, TESDA, Bureau of Immigration, and other agencies. Prepare and submit reports required for accreditation and compliance (e.g., PAASCU, ACSCU, AUN-QA).
- International Certification & Rankings: Gather, organize, and analyze institutional data relevant to global ranking frameworks (e.g., WURI, THE Impact Rankings, QS). Assist in drafting write-ups, narratives, and evidence-based reports for ranking submissions. Coordinate with academic departments, research units, and extension offices to collect required data. Track submission timelines, ensure timely compliance, and maintain institutional archives of ranking reports.
- Public Relations & Communication: Draft official letters, press releases, and communication materials for external stakeholders. Contribute to institutional branding and promotion in local and international platforms. Document and publish reports of external affairs activities.
- Community & Internationalization: Support implementation of community extension projects and CSR initiatives. Assist in organizing international benchmarking visits, student/faculty exchange programs, and joint research collaborations.
- Event Support: Assist in planning, coordinating, and documenting external events such as conferences, seminars, and institutional visits. Handle logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications.
- Administrative & Research Support: Maintain updated databases of partner institutions, linkages, and ranking submissions. Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and retrieval of external affairs files. Perform other related duties as assigned by the External Affairs Head or the School Administration.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, International Studies, Business Administration, Education, or other related fields.
Experience:
At least 1 year of work experience in external relations, public affairs, research coordination, academic partnerships, or accreditation/ranking initiatives (fresh graduates with strong internship/volunteer background may also be considered).
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English and Filipino).
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital communication platforms. Strong research and documentation abilities, particularly in data gathering, report writing, and institutional profiling.
- Familiarity with university ranking systems (e.g., QS, THE, WURI) and accreditation standards (PAASCU, ACSCU, AUN-QA).
- Ability to coordinate with government agencies (CHED, DepEd, TESDA, LGUs) and international organizations.
- Project and event management skills.
