Job summary

A leading company in the ESD industry is seeking a Sustainability Consultant to produce various reports, liaise with clients, and improve their understanding of energy rating measures. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related field, substantial experience in sustainability design, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years relevant experience in Sustainability Design/Consulting.
• Full planning and building permit/application knowledge preferred.
• Understanding of NCC and sustainability rating tools like BESS/Greenstar.

Responsibilities

• Produce residential/commercial/industrial reports per client specifications.
• Liaise with clients to ensure cost-effective measures are specified.
• Manage job files and ensure deadlines are met.

Job description

Main Tasks:

Core objectives include:

• Producing a range ofresidential/commercial/industrial reports upon request, in the office,including but not limited to Sustainable Design Assessments, WSUD, WasteManagement Plans and Section J Assessments in accordance with council,surveyors and client requirements
  
• Liaising with clients andcouncils ensuring the cost-effective measures are specified
  
• Educating and improvingclient’s knowledge of general ESD and energy rating measures and ensure theyunderstand what has been included in these reports
  
• Maintain effectivecommunication between subcontractors, management and clients alike
  
• Managing the working order ofjob files and jobs met deadlines of clients
  
• Establish and refine currentinternal templates

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering/Environment/Energy/SustainableBuilding, or related courses
  
• Full planning andbuilding permit / application knowledge preferred
  
• Understanding inSustainable Design Principles for buildings, related to energy efficiency,stormwater management, indoor environment quality, sustainable transport andwaste management.
  
• Australian code(NCC) and sustainability rating tools (BESS/Greenstar, etc.) knowledgepreferred
  
• At least 3 yearsrelevant experience in Sustainability Design/Consulting, Energy Modelling orsimilar.
