Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Manager – EQ Cash Settlements – MNL to lead the Manila Cash Equity Settlements team. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, drive improvements, and coordinate with Front Office and Finance to ensure timely trade settlements.

You’ll supervise settlements activities, manage risks, and implement changes in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring strict adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Equities front-to-back flow is a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience essential, preferably with change and operations management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate between Front Office, senior leaders and internal HSBC teams.
• Ability to problem solve, articulate requirements and implement change.
• Ability to multi-task and support multiple stakeholders.
• Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment.
• Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage.
• Familiar working knowledge of associated technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for Equities Settlements team across trade lifecycle to ensure timely settlement.
• Supervise day-to-day operations and delivery of initiatives including strategic deliveries and changes.
• Coordinate communications with Front Office, Finance, Settlements, Static Data for Equity trades.
• Ensure client trades allocation on Trade Date; balance domestic and foreign equity positions.
• Oversee intersystem reconciliations, break capture and external recons on exchanges.
• Escalate risks to management and maintain updated procedures.
• Apply judgment in a fast-paced environment to drive progress.
• Identify financial risk and ensure resolution per bank guidelines.
• Support KRIs to minimize risk (Nostro/Stock/inter-system breaks).
