Job summary

Swiss Re India Branch is seeking an Engineering Underwriter to join our engineering underwriting team in Mumbai. You will deliver sharp pre-underwriting analysis and post-underwriting support for treaty and facultative engineering business, partnering with senior underwriters to drive informed decisions in a dynamic market.

You will apply construction risk knowledge, collaborate across teams, and stay current on global engineering trends to create value for clients in India.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of insurance or reinsurance underwriting experience
• On-ground experience in construction industry preferred
• Engineering degree (Civil/Mechanical) from a recognised institution
• MBA in (re)insurance from NIAMC or equivalent an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Drive economic profit growth by supporting senior underwriters with pre-underwriting analysis for engineering treaty and facultative business
• Input pricing data and draft pre-underwriting notes for review
• Complete post-underwriting activities accurately in the system
• Analyze Indian market client requests and provide well-reasoned underwriting recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deal-team solutions
• Share knowledge within the Engineering Underwriting community across the global network
• Stay informed on global engineering market trends and apply specialist know-how to Indian clients
