Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Supervisor to assist the department head in managing budgets, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation.

This role is responsible for maintaining the building and grounds with emphasis on safety, security and asset protection, and for assigning, tracking and following up on work by staff and contractors. You will help to increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communications and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of related experience and HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing training.
• 2-year degree with 2 years related experience and HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise distribution of repair work orders.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Assist in planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.
• Establish open, collaborative relationships with employees.
• Monitor timeliness and quality of repair work orders.
• Supervise Engineering in absence of the Director of Engineering.
• Manage the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
• Communicate business objectives and performance expectations to employees.
• Arrange for additional services such as painting, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
• Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of Engineering and related departments.
• Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine work required.
• Maintain logs and records as required.
• Operate generators and fire pumps as necessary.
• Provide emergency response services 24/7.
• Repair equipment (refrigeration, laundry) as necessary.
• Ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms.
• Empower staff to provide excellent customer service.
• Emphasize guest satisfaction and continuous improvement.
• Set a positive example for guest relations.
• Train employees in safety procedures.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major; 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area; technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing.
