Job summary

Universal Robina Corporation seeks an Electrical Design and Automation Engineer to drive design, development, and implementation of electrical power systems and industrial automation while ensuring compliance with RA 7920 and PEC.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead projects from design to commissioning, and maintain thorough documentation, including as-built drawings and test reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a CHED-recognized institution.
• Active PRC License; Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design and industrial automation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP and PLC/SCADA platforms.
• Solid knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code and RA 7920.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed electrical plans, single-line diagrams, schematics, panel schedules, power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems.
• Design, program, integrate, and commission PLC, HMI, MES, SCADA, motion control, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Lead electrical and automation scopes for capital and improvement projects from design through installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Sign and seal electrical plans (for PEE license holders) or provide technical support and supervision (for REEs) as required by law.
• Ensure all designs meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards; support arc flash studies, load calculations, and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate with government agencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and test reports.

Electrical Design and Automation Engineer

We are looking for a licensed Electrical Design and Automation Engineer from within our organization to join the Engineering team. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and implementation of electrical power systems and industrial automation solutions while ensuring full compliance with Republic Act No. 7920 (New Electrical Engineering Law), the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), and all other applicable standards.

What are the Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review detailed electrical plans, single-line diagrams, schematics, panel schedules, power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems in compliance with RA 7920 and PEC.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a CHED-recognized institution.
• Active PRC License:
• Preferred: Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) – authorized to sign and seal plans.
• Minimum: Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design and industrial automation.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, ETAP (or equivalent) and PLC/SCADA platforms.
• Solid knowledge of Philippine Electrical Code, RA 7920, and related regulations.
• Good track record of project delivery, safety awareness, and collaboration.
