Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Manager Clinical Operations to lead a team responsible for monitoring, training, resourcing and performance management in clinical operations. You will drive KPIs, ensure SOP/WPD compliance, and collaborate with leadership on resourcing and process improvements.

The role demands strong leadership, regulatory knowledge and the ability to coach staff across projects and trials. Experience in ICH/GCP, FDA guidelines, and remote/on-site monitoring is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience (comparable)
• 1+ year of leadership responsibility

Responsibilities

• Lead staff with coaching, mentorship and work direction.
• Conduct performance appraisals and career development discussions; recruit staff as needed.
• Lead induction/orientation for new employees and maintain data records (CVs, training, profiles).
• Ensure timesheets and expense reports are timely and accurate.
• Support project resourcing and liaise with leads to optimize operations.
• Deliver training on SOPs/WPDs and local requirements; identify training gaps.
• Ensure adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
• Escalate quality issues and support QA audits as needed.
• Review systems (Activate, CTMS, Preclarus, Clarity) to monitor metrics and status.
• Evaluate staff performance through PAVs (remote or on-site).
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and risk‑based monitoring approaches.
• Contribute to bids and business development initiatives.
