Job Description
  • Develop A&I basic design such as system architecture, P&ID for A&I, and instrumentation layout
  • Coordinate with client to explain/discuss control logic
  • Develop IO list and process flow chart from control philosophy
  • Prepare and review material requisitions and technical specifications for control and instrumentation systems
  • Review vendor technical proposals and provide technical evaluations
  • Participate in technical bid clarification meetings with vendors
  • Conduct survey of existing facilities and confirm existing drawings
  • Review and approve vendor\'s deliverables including:
    • Detailed system architecture
    • I/O list and instrument list
    • Network configurations
  • Survey existing SCADA facilities and confirm existing software data
  • Manage technical communication with vendors to finalize specifications
  • Monitor vendor development progress according to project schedule
  • Prepare approval documents for client review and coordinate responses
  • Review Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures
  • Attend and supervise FAT activities
  • Review and approve:
    • Control logic and sequences
    • Alarm configurations
    • Other detailed design drawings and technical documents
  • Review contractor\'s method statements and implementation procedures
  • Review and approve subcontractor\'s detailed design drawings and technical documents
  • Develop commissioning procedures and checklists
  • Supervise installation and commissioning activities including:
    • Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
    • Review test results and commissioning reports
  • Prepare punch lists and follow up on completion
  • Support system handover activities
  • Support operator training programs
Technical Communication & Client Interface
  • Respond to and resolve technical queries from client
  • Prepare technical clarification responses for client review comments
  • Document technical decisions and maintain communication records
  • Participate in client technical meetings and design reviews
  • Prepare technical deviation requests when required
  • Conduct regular site visits for system verification
  • Monitor implementation progress and quality control
Interdisciplinary Coordination
  • Provide timely A&I information to other engineering teams, including:
  • Control panel locations and specifications
  • Network infrastructure requirements
  • Interface specifications with other systems
  • Participate in regular coordination meetings
  • Review interface requirements with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Coordinate with Process team for control philosophy implementation
Report and Documentation
  • Provide regular status reports to Engineering Manager on system development progress
  • Develop and maintain project schedules for A&I works
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Report critical technical issues promptly with proposed solutions
  • Document and communicate lessons learned
  • Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ISA Certified Automation Professional)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation systems
  • Experience in team leadership
  • Fluent business-level verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Strong personality, positive attitude, and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong knowledge of major PLC/SCADA platforms
  • Proficiency in industrial network protocols and architectures
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems standards
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Understanding of industrial cybersecurity principles
  • Experience with control system programming and configuration
  • Proficiency in instrument selection and specifications
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus)
  • Knowledge of control panel design and standards
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
