Job summary

OSM Thome is seeking an Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to manage all electrical, electronic and automation systems aboard a bulk carrier trading worldwide. You will ensure safe and efficient operations at sea, supported by a global, experienced team.

Requirements include a valid ETO CoC and STCW certificates, sea-going experience on bulk carriers, and strong English communication skills to work with a mixed-nationality crew. Willingness to sail worldwide and maintain records is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid ETO CoC and all required STCW certificates for service on bulk carriers.
• Sea-going experience as ETO, preferably on bulk carriers.
• Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical, electronic and automation systems.
• Good English communication skills and ability to work in a mixed-nationality crew.
• Fit for duty with valid medical certificate and readiness to sail worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and repair all electrical and electronic equipment, including power distribution, lighting and automation systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot engine room control systems, cargo handling equipment and navigation/communication systems.
• Carry out planned maintenance, testing and inspections of electrical installations and safety systems.
• Support the engine and deck teams during cargo operations, maneuvers and port stays.
• Maintain accurate records, logs and reports for all electrical and electronic work.
