Role Summary
We are seeking an organized, multi-talented Electrical Estimator & Project Coordinator to join our joint-enterprise team. This unique hybrid position operates under a single scope of work supporting two sister companies: an Electrical Contracting company and a Solar & Battery Storage company.
Time Allocation Breakdown
- 50% — Electrical Estimating: Material take-offs, labor pricing, and bid submissions.
- 40% — Project Coordination: Scheduling, permitting, costing, rebate management, and stakeholder communication.
- 10% — Project Close-Out & Shop Drawings: Managing submittals, final documentation, and project wrap-ups.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-Construction (50% of time)
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and material take-offs using Accubid (or equivalent estimating software).
- Analyze project blueprints, schematic drawings, and structural specifications to fully capture the project scope.
- Evaluate industry labor rates, material market pricing, and vendor quotes to ensure highly accurate, competitive bids.
- Understand and incorporate specialized systems, including fire alarm wiring layouts and local requirements, into active bids.
- Formulate and submit professional formal proposals and estimates to prospective clients.
Project Coordination & Management (40% of time)
- Track progress of new and ongoing projects to ensure execution aligns perfectly with the master job schedule.
- Coordinate logistical components including project timing, municipal permitting, utility connection requests, and inspections.
- Manage active project financial health by issuing and submitting Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers and tracking job-costing adjustments.
- Administer the project rebate process from initiation to final credit collection, maximizing financial incentives for the owner.
- Act as a central communication hub, maintaining proactive contact with general contractors (GCs), material suppliers, field crews, and owners.
Project Close-Out & Shop Drawings (10% of time)
- Review, catalog, and submit technical shop drawings to design consultants and GCs for approval.
- Compile comprehensive close-out packages, including operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings.
- Reconcile final project job costing against early estimates to document variances and optimize future bidding.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 to 5+ years of active experience in electrical estimating and project coordination.
- Software: Proven, hands-on proficiency with Accubid or equivalent electrical estimating platforms is required.
- Compliance: Robust understanding of Canadian Electrical Safety Codes and compliance regulations; previous experience in the Canadian market is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical materials, installation methodologies, labor-pricing metrics, and fire alarm wiring systems.
- Digital Literacy: Basic to intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, and PDF tools (e.g., Adobe, Bluebeam).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a track record of professionally managing relationships with suppliers, GCs, and customers.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday (9pm - 6am MNL time)
Must Have atleast 50mbps internet connection
Must be wiling to work (Home-based)
