Qualifications

• Experience leading engineers or managing technical reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and optimization of solar PV electrical systems.
• Oversee site surveys, customer requirements, and project plans.
• Review and approve SOWs, BOQs, specs, permits, and safety requirements.
• Create, review, and finalize electrical designs based on simulations and energy projections.
• Evaluate design outputs against performance and recommend optimizations.
• Ensure all specs are reflected in contracts and SLAs.
• Serve as SME for electrical aspects of solar PV systems.
• Mentor Electrical Design Engineers.
• Escalate design issues and coordinate across disciplines.
• Represent electrical design in client, utility, regulatory discussions.
• Act for Design & Engineering Head in their absence.
• Develop and maintain electrical design standards and tools.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engineering Design & Technical Delivery
• Leads the planning, design, and optimization of solar PV electrical systems to support client requirements and new business opportunities.
• Oversees site surveys, customer requirement gathering, and preparation of project plans for design proposals
• Reviews and approves detailed scope of work, BOQs/material take-offs, technical specifications, permits, licenses, safety requirements, and other supporting documents prior to implementation
• Creates, reviews, and finalizes electrical designs based on simulations, load studies, energy projections, and client/account officer inputs.
• Evaluates final design outputs against post-implementation performance and recommends optimization measures where necessary.
• Ensures all technical specifications are accurately reflected in contracts, proposals, and service level agreements (SLAs).

Technical Leadership

• Serves as the technical subject-matter expert (SME) for electrical aspects of solar PV systems
• Conducts comprehensive design reviews and ensures adherence to best engineering practices
• Reviews and signs off on complex calculations, simulations, and design drawings prepared by the team
• Provides mentorship, coaching, and technical direction to Electrical Design Engineers
• Acts as escalation point for critical design issues, technical conflicts, and multidisciplinary coordination challenges

Stakeholder Management & Acting Head Support

• Serves as primary POC for electrical design matters across internal stakeholders including Project Management, Supply Chain, Corporate Planning & Business Development, Commercial Service, and Operations & Maintenance
• Represents the electrical design function in client, utility, and regulatory discussions when required
• Acts on behalf of the Design & Engineering Head in their absence for electrical-related decisions and approvals, ensuring uninterrupted project execution

Compliance & Standards

• Ensures full compliance with:
• Local electrical codes
• Utility interconnection requirements
• Grid compliance standards
• Applicable occupational safety and electrical safety regulations
• Reviews and validates designs to ensure regulatory readiness prior to submission and implementation
• Keeps updated with changes in regulatory frameworks and industry standards affecting solar PV systems
• Leads the development and maintenance of electrical design standards, templates, product portfolio references, and work scopes
• Improves engineering processes, design tools, costing methodologies, and documentation systems
• Drives research and evaluation of new renewable energy technologies, design methodologies, and software tools
• Maintains and safeguards engineering knowledge databases and intellectual property.
