Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Building Services group in Cebu. You will design electrical systems, produce detailed drawings, perform load and short-circuit analyses, and coordinate with architects and other disciplines on multiple projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of DEWA/ADDC/NFPA standards and advanced BIM tools. Based in Cebu, Makati, or Quezon City locations, the candidate should have 5+ years of design experience in electrical projects and a track

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of design experience in electrical systems.
• Experience on Middle East projects is preferable.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and lighting calculations.
• Knowledge of DEWA, ADDC, UAE Fire Life and Safety and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform design projects including analysis, evaluation, design reports, calculations, and drawings according to standards and procedures.
• Design electrical systems ensuring compliance with local regulations and authority requirements.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts (lighting, small power, cabling, fire alarm, earthing, lightning protection).
• Prepare design documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
• Conduct electrical calculations (load, short-circuit, voltage drop, cable sizing) using appropriate software.
• Collaborate with architects and other disciplines to integrate electrical systems into designs.
• Provide technical guidance to external stakeholders during design and coordination processes.
• Present engineering solutions during concept and schematic design stages and prepare reports.
• Prepare design drawings mark-ups, take-offs, reports, and specifications.

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services group. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Perform design projects including analysis, evaluation, design reports, calculations, and drawings for projects that will be assigned in accordance with standards and GHD procedures.
• Design all electrical systems ensuring compliance with standards, local regulations, and authority requirements such as DEWA, ADDC, and UAE Fire Life and Safety.
• Create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for all the electrical systems, such as interior and exterior lighting design, small power distribution, cable routing, fire alarm, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Prepare comprehensive electrical design documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical reports, utilizing ACAD (AutoCAD), Revit, and Navisworks.
• Handle several electrical design tasks for multiple projects.
• Conduct detailed electrical calculations, including load analysis, short- circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and cable sizing, utilizing appropriate software tools and engineering principles.
• Collaborate closely with architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into project designs.
• Provide technical guidance to external stakeholders throughout the design and coordination process.
• Present engineering solutions for discussion during concept and schematic design stages, and prepare concept, scheme design, and detailed design reports.
• Prepare design drawings mark‑ups, calculations, material quantity take-off (when required), reports, technical specifications, and other design‑related documents relevant to the design task

What you will bring to the team:

• Minimum of +5 years’ design experience, experience in Middle East projects is preferable.
• Extensive experience in engineering and design of Electrical systems.
• Proven track record in building services design with different types of sectors, including high rise, commercial, residential, retail, Healthcare, Industrial, refurbishment, etc;
• Knowledge of electrical calculations using Dialux, Dialux Evo, and Amtech Design Pro.
• Software capability in BIM360 and Revit.
• Detailed knowledge of international design standards, DEWA, ADDC, UAE Fire Life and Safety and NFPA, etc.

This job offer can be based either in Makati, Quezon City or Cebu depending on your home base/location.
