Job summary

Bataan 2020, Inc. in Quezon City is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Shifter for a full-time role based in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The position focuses on maximizing efficiency and availability of electrical/instrumentation systems to ensure continuous mill operations. Key duties include inspecting and maintaining electrical equipment, calibrating process instruments, and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in both electrical and instrumentation work.
• Or at least a 2-year graduate of Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), or technical-vocational program with relevant NC II certification.
• Preferably with experience in paper manufacturing.
• Willing to work in Baesa, Quezon City and on a shifting schedule, 6 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, installs, replaces, repairs, controls, starters and its components, wiring and distribution systems, transformers, switchgears, breakers, motor control system centers, relays, fail-safe devices, overload protections, and all other electrical machinery and devices, including calibration, reconditioning/repairs of various instruments as may be needed during the shift.
• Conducts routine inspection of plant equipment, including visual inspection and evaluation/monitoring of mill equipment, operating voltage, motor loads, sump pit pumps, and cooling systems.
• Corrects abnormalities and reports defects for immediate action or scheduling.
• Tunes up process control instruments; maintains daily logbook.
• During unscheduled shutdown, works on outstanding concerns and shutdown activities; during scheduled shutdown, prepares tools and materials and ensures timely completion.
• Coordinates closely with crew and staff; maintains spare units and parts availability; ensures safety and clean procedures.

About the role

Bataan 2020, Inc. is seeking a skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Shifter, a full-time position based in Quezon City, Metro Manila. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Shifter, you will be responsible for providing maximum efficiency and availability of all electrical/instrumentation systems, equipment and devices of the mill to ensure continuous machine operations.

Key responsibilities

• Inspects, installs, replaces, repairs, controls, starters and its components, wiring and distribution systems, transformers, switchgears, breakers, motor control system centers, relays, fail-safe devices, overload protections, and all other electrical machinery and devices, including calibration, reconditioning/repairs of various instruments as may be needed during the shift
• Conducts routine inspection of various plant equipment, including but not limited to visual inspection and evaluation/monitoring of mill equipment and its operating voltage, motor loads, sump pit pumps, conditions of rotating machinery such as motors, carbon brushes, temperature and cooling system, and daily power consumption
• Corrects all abnormalities and defects found and reports such defects, whether corrected or uncorrected, for immediate action or scheduling
• Tunes up process control instruments
• Maintains proper recording of concerns and accomplished tasks in the daily logbook
• During unscheduled/opportunity machine shutdown, works on outstanding concerns and shutdown activities listed and accomplishes them according to priority and time availability
• During scheduled shutdown, prepares the necessary tools and materials needed prior to shutdown and ensures that all assigned activities are completed on time
• Coordinates closely with other crew and staff in the performance of duties
• Maintains availability of spare units and parts and knows where to find these
• Maintains cleanliness and works in accordance with proper procedures and safety practices at all times

• Ensures awareness of and compliance with policies and procedures as required by the Quality Management System Standards and ISO 9001 Standards

About you

• At least 1 year of experience in both electrical and instrumentation work
• OR at least a 2-year graduate of Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), or technical-vocational program with relevant NC II certification
• Preferably with experience in paper manufacturing
• Willing to work in Baesa, Quezon City
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule, 6 days a week
